Privacy Policy
Last updated October 11, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Always Blue Software LLC (“we,” “us” or “our”) collects, uses and shares information when you play The Lid Drawer on The Lid Drawer website at liddrawer.app (“the game”).
The short version
- You don't need an account to play, and we don't ask for your name or email.
- Your progress is saved in your own browser. If you sign in, we also keep a copy on our servers so you can play on other devices and get it back after clearing your browser.
- We record how the game is played with LogRocket so we can fix bugs and make it better, unless your browser asks not to be tracked.
- The game is free because it shows ads from Google, our advertising partner: on the home screen, now and then between levels, and when you choose to watch one for a reward. Google uses cookies and device identifiers for these ads. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland we ask for your consent first, and in U.S. states with privacy laws you can opt out of personalized ads.
- We don't sell personal information ourselves.
Information we collect
Your progress. Your progress (the levels you reach, your stars, keys and hints) and settings such as sound are kept in your browser's local storage on your device. They are not sent to us. Clearing your browser's site data, or using “Reset progress” where the game offers it, deletes them.
Saved progress when you sign in (optional). If you use “Sign in” in the game, we store a copy of your progress on our servers, along with when it was last saved and a count of resets, so it can be kept in step across your devices. You can turn it on in two ways:
- Sign in with Google. Google sends us a token confirming your Google account. We keep only Google's identifier for that account, a string of numbers, to know which save is yours. Your email address is shown in the game on your device so you know which account you used, but we don't store it on our servers, and we don't use your name.
- Transfer code, without Google. The game creates a random player ID for you and shows a short code that you type on another device. A code works once and expires after 24 hours; we store it only in scrambled (hashed) form and delete it when it's used or expires.
Either way, your browser keeps a device key in its local storage so it can reach your saved progress without signing in again, and we store only a scrambled (hashed) form of that key. Google device keys expire after a year.
Gameplay recordings. We use LogRocket, an analytics service, to understand how people play and to find bugs. On the live game, LogRocket records the screens you see and how you interact with them (taps, clicks, drags and scrolling), so a visit can be replayed as a reconstruction of the session, along with technical information such as your device type, browser, screen size and approximate location derived from your IP address. LogRocket keeps an identifier in your browser's storage to tell one visit from the next. Anything typed into a text field is masked, and we remove sign-in details, tokens and similar secrets from what LogRocket receives. Recordings aren't linked to your name or email. If you sign in, recordings are linked to your player ID (the random ID, or Google's account identifier) so we can look into problems with your save, but never to your name or email.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, the game doesn't load LogRocket and your visit isn't recorded. Ad blockers that block LogRocket also stop it, and the game works the same either way.
Ads. The game shows ads through Google AdSense, including its ad service for web games (H5 Games Ads): an ad on the home screen, a full-screen ad now and then between levels, and, only when you choose it, a rewarded ad that gives you a Lid Finder hint. Google, not us, chooses and serves the ads. When the game asks for an ad, your browser connects to Google, which receives information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the page you're on and approximate location, and Google and its partners may set or read cookies and similar identifiers (such as advertising identifiers kept in your browser's storage). Google uses this to show and measure ads, limit how often you see the same ad, prevent fraud and, if allowed, show ads based on your interests (personalized ads). Non-personalized ads are chosen from things like the game itself and your general location, and Google may still use cookies or identifiers to limit how often an ad appears, report on ads in aggregate and fight fraud. We receive only aggregate reports from Google, such as how many ads were shown, not information that identifies you. If you watch a rewarded ad, the reward is added to your progress in your browser.
Your choices about ads. If you play from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent message from Google (a Google-certified consent management platform) asks whether you agree to cookies and personalized ads before any are used, and you can change your choice at any time with the privacy and cookie settings link that message provides. If you play from a U.S. state with a consumer privacy law, such as California, Google's message lets you opt out of the use of your information for targeted advertising, which those laws may treat as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, the game asks Google for non-personalized ads only. Anywhere, you can turn off personalized ads from Google in Google's ad settings (My Ad Center) and block or delete cookies in your browser. Learn more in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and the Google Privacy Policy. Ad blockers stop the ads, and the game still works.
Technical information. When your browser loads the game, our hosting provider receives standard technical information, such as your IP address, browser and the time of the request, so it can deliver the game and protect it from abuse.
Messages. If you email us, we keep your message and email address to reply.
How we use information
- To run the game and keep it working, secure and free of abuse
- To keep your saved progress, if you sign in, and sync it between your devices
- To show ads, through Google, that keep the game free, and to give you the rewards you choose to watch ads for
- To find and fix bugs, and to understand, in aggregate, which levels people play, where they get stuck and how to make the game better
- To respond to you
- To comply with our legal obligations
We do not sell or rent personal information ourselves. Google's use of information for the ads in the game is described above and governed by Google's own policies.
Who we share it with
- Amazon Web Services hosts the game and stores saved progress in the United States.
- Google provides “Sign in with Google.” Its sign-in button loads from Google only when you open the game's Sign in window, and Google handles your sign-in under the Google Privacy Policy.
- LogRocket provides the gameplay recordings described above and stores them for us.
- Google is our advertising partner. It serves the ads and the consent messages described above and uses the information it receives under the Google Privacy Policy and how Google uses cookies in advertising.
- Google Fonts provides the game's fonts, so your browser connects to Google to load them, which gives Google your IP address. Google's use of information is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
We may also disclose information if required by law or legal process, to protect the rights, property or safety of the game, its players or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of all or part of our business.
Data retention
Your progress stays in your browser until you or your browser delete it. Progress saved when you sign in is kept until you delete it with “Delete account” in the game, ask us to delete them, or we stop offering the game. Transfer codes are deleted when used or after 24 hours. LogRocket deletes recordings automatically after the retention period of our plan with them. Google keeps advertising cookies and your consent choice in your browser for the periods it sets, and handles the information it receives for ads under its own retention policies. Hosting logs are kept only as long as needed for security and operations. Emails are kept as long as needed to answer them.
Your rights and choices
You can stop recordings at any time by turning on Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track in your browser, you can make your ad choices as described in “Your choices about ads” above, and you can delete your progress by clearing the site's data in your browser. “Delete account” in the game's Account window deletes all saved progress and device keys for your player ID from our servers.
Depending on where you live, including California and other U.S. states, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, you may have the right to know about, access, correct or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict some processing, and to receive it in a portable format. To make a request, email info@absftw.com with the player ID shown in the game's Account window if you signed in, or else the date and rough time you played and the device you used, so we can find your information. We may need to verify your request, and we will respond within the time required by law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, we rely on our legitimate interests in running and improving the game, and on your consent for cookies and personalized ads, which you can withdraw at any time through the consent message's settings; you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
The game is not directed at children under 13, we do not knowingly collect personal information from them, and we do not knowingly target ads at them. Where Google's consent message or other signals indicate that a player hasn't agreed to personalized ads or may be under the age at which they can agree, ads are requested as non-personalized. If you believe a child under 13 has been recorded, contact us and we will delete the recording.
Security
The game is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections, device keys and transfer codes are stored only in hashed form, and access to our systems, saves and recordings is restricted. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however.
International players
We are based in the United States. If you play from elsewhere, your information is processed in the United States.
Changes
We'll update this policy before the game adds anything new that involves your information, such as purchases or new ad partners, and we'll change the date above whenever we do. We will highlight material changes in the game.
